Lehigh Acres Middle School was one of ten schools nationwide awarded a two-year grant to implement FUSE Studios in classrooms on March 21.

FUSE Studios allows students to work at their own pace on one of the many challenges. The challenges range from designing a video game to building a laser maze. Students may decide they are interested in a project on home renovation or one creating electric apparel. They can opt to design an app or use a 3D printer to "print my ride."

Only two schools in the entire state of Florida were awarded the grant and Lehigh Acres Middle School will be the only school in all of South Florida with the program which will be launched in August. The grant covers two years worth of implementation, license fees, training and kits.
